Nursery Places

 

We are pleased to accept applications for places in our nursery. Places are available for children in the term after their third birthday.  If your child is already eligible for a place please contact the nursery teacher at awebb@clifford.school or telephone 01473 251605 and ask for the nursery.

We usually contact parents to offer a place to children during the half-term break in the term before starting nursery.

Science Week in the Nursery

The children watched as different ingredients were added to the container. They waited to see what would happen. They carefully poured a liquid into the bottle. We used kitchen ingredients. What is happening? We talked about what we saw.

Platinum Jubilee Celebrations

We made some Jubilee paper chains. We made some crowns to wear at the picnic. We decorated our crowns with jewels and gems. We learnt about our Queen. We made pictures using images of London and the Queen. We shared food together at the picnic. It was a lovely end to our celebration. Crowns waiting to be fitted. We made a collage portrait of the Queen wearing her Coronation robes.

Spring Term in the Nursery

The children sorted and counted eggs into nests. The children matched the birds to the eggs. How many green eggs can you see? The children collected and counted some ladybirds. Developing fine motor skills by threading laces and pipe cleaners through the holes. Alphabet pebbles. Sorting eggs and birds. Tie and dye. Story baskets. Kinetic sand. Penguins in the snow. The children had fun exploring this tactile material. Looking for the letters in our names. the children watched the wind blow the windmill round. The wind blew so hard the windmill spun around so quickly. Developing fine motor control by threading beads onto pipe cleaners.

Stay and Play in the Nursery

We regularly have sessions where parents and younger brothers or sisters can 'stay and play' in the Nursery.  These events often have a theme. This time we had a 'Stay and Play Pancake Day'.  Pancakes and delicious toppings were enjoyed by all!
