Reception parents were warmly invited to a “Stay and Play” session, where they had the opportunity to explore their children’s learning about Spring. Families enjoyed spending time together in the classroom, engaging in a range of hands-on activities that reflected what the children have been learning in school. It was a lovely chance for parents to learn alongside their child, see the classroom environment in action, and gain a real insight into what school life is like in Reception.
Our Year 1 parents were invited to a Phonics Stay and Play session, where they learned more about the upcoming Phonics Screening Check and how phonics is taught in school. The session began with a clear overview to help parents understand what the screening involves and how they can support their child’s reading journey. Parents then joined their children in a range of engaging phonics activities, giving them the chance to practise skills together and gain practical ideas to use at home. It was a valuable opportunity to build confidence and strengthen the home–school partnership.
