What are we learning about this term?
Author Visit - Monday 9th October 2023
Year 4 were visited on Monday by the author Annelise Gray.
Annelise Gray was born in Bermuda and moved to the UK as a child. She grew up riding horses and dreaming of becoming a writer. During our visit she talked to us about her childhood and her inspirations as a writer. We were able to ask lots of questions about the writing process. Annelise read us an extract from her first novel -Circus Maximus: Race to the Death- finishing on a cliffhanger and leaving us wanting to read more!
Following on from our visit, we were very proud to receive an email from Annelise Gray:
'I just wanted to say thank you again for welcoming me into your class on Monday. I’m back in Dorset now after going on to Norwich and Colchester afterwards - a little tired, but it was a great week and I thoroughly enjoyed talking to your lovely pupils, who did you proud, I thought. Please thank them for their enthusiasm and tell them how much I enjoyed meeting them all. Hope they like their books and if ever you’d like me to come back and visit again, just say the word. I was so impressed by the feel of the school and all that beautiful writing on the walls of reception.'
Well done Year 4!
