    We had a wonderful time celebrating the 80th anniversary of VE day with a day full of reflection, learning, and celebration.

    In the summer term of 2024, last year's Year 6 researched sharks - with over 400 species of these fascinating predators, there was lots to learn.

    We were horrified to read of the persecution sharks still face, causing some of them to become endangered.

    We wrote to various significant public figures who we felt could influence our own and other countries to care for sharks instead of killing them.

    Some of us posted our letters to see if we would really get a response.

    Due to a change of government shortly afterwards, neither the prime minister nor our local MP at the time responded.

    However, their Royal Highnesses King Charles and Prince William both replied.

    We feel proud that the royal family know the name of Clifford Road Primary School!
