Writing
This term our writing focus will link to our work in Science on Shadows where we will look at the text 'Hortense and the Shadow'. We will write letters to the shadow in role as the main character - Hortense as we try to persuade it to reattach to us!
Our second writing focus will link to our History topic - Anglo-Saxons, where we will be studying the legend of Beowulf. We will be writing stories about our own monsters.
Reading
In reading we will be studying both the poem and the story of Beowulf. We will use our prosody skills when reading aloud as we think about our audience. We will use a variety of drama techniques to help us get in role as characters and to help us visualise the setting.
