Autumn Term
Reading
This term we will be reading different genres of texts including fiction, non fiction and poetry.
We will be focused on increasing our reading fluency and comprehension and include reading prosody and booktalk to develop these skills. Children will need to learn to read common exception words for year 2 and will be applying their phonic knowledge for Phase 6 phonics.
Writing
In writing this term we will develop our descriptive writing skills and include expanded noun phrases when writing narratives and poetry. We will use our non fiction knowledge to write fact files. We will punctuate our sentences correctly and include the correct spellings.
