Summer Term

In the Summer Term we will be practising a variety of skills within our writing.

Spelling

Within our Spelling lessons this term, we will be learning the skills of;

Adding prefixes to words to alter their meaning.
Adding suffixes to the end of words to alter their meaning.
Using and applying a variety of homophones.

Reading

This term will be practising and applying a variety of skills within our Guided Reading lessons. These include;

Listening to and discussing a wide range of texts.
Checking that a text makes sense by discussing their understanding the meaning of words in context.
Using evidence to justify inferences.
Predict events and draw inferences about characters.
Identifying themes within a text.
